Here is a photo of my 8-yr old grandson Ian taking on the world!!! It’s from his football game this past Sunday. As you can see, he has stepped up to try to stop the forward progress of the opposing team. At this point he is literally the only one out front. The thing you can’t see from the photo is that he is one of the smallest players on the field. But what he may lack in size, he more than makes up in spirit & determination.

It reminds me of how we should view all the evil in our fallen world …

I read the message below that appeared on a friend & ex coworker of mine & just had to share it. (Than you Bob!) It describes what I’ve experienced in my life far better that I ever have. I’ve experienced tremendous pain & suffering in my life twice. It was when both of my marriages failed. What made it so devastating was the amount of effort I put into each of them.

In both case, I made so many scrifices & was so laser-focused on my wives & making them happy. What I didn’t realize was that I took it too far. I didn’t just love my wives, I literally worshipped them. Well, what learned was that we are to love people but never, never worship them. There is only one person who deserves our worship and that is Jesus Christ. You see, no matter how much you love someone, they are only human & will eventually show you why you can’t worship them. It was a very hard lesson for me to learn & I had to learn it twice. Please, please learn from my errors & adjust accordingly. 😊

BROKEN
I was in Dollar Tree last night & there was a lady & with 2 kids behind me in the LONG line. One was a big kid, one was a toddler. The bigger one had a pack of glow sticks & the baby was screaming for them, so the Mom opened the pack & gave him one; which stopped his tears. He walked around with it smiling, but then the bigger boy took it & the baby started screaming again. Just as the Mom was about to fuss at the older child, he bent the glow sticks & handed it back to the baby. As we walked outside at the same time, the baby noticed the stick was now glowing & his brother said "I had to break it so you could get the full effect from it." I almost ran because l could hear God saying to me, "I had to break you to show you why I created you. You had to go through it so you could fulfill your purpose."

That little baby was happy just swinging that "unbroken" glow stick around in the air because he didn't understand what it was created to do which was "glow". There are some people who will be content just "being" but some of us have been chosen by God to be "broken". We have to get sick. We have to lose a job. We go through divorce. We have to suffer with the disease of addiction. We have to bury our spouse, parents, best friend, or our child because, in those moments of desperation, God is breaking us, but when the breaking is done, then we will be able to see the reason for which we were created. So, when you see us glowing just know that we have been broken but healed by His Grace & Mercy!!!
