Before we knew what a stud was,
You showed us how to stand tall.
Before we learned about load-bearing walls,
You carried everything.

You didn’t need blueprints.
Your love measured each room by heartbeats,
Not square feet.
You filled empty spaces with bedtime stories,
Turned scratches on the floor into memories,
And made a dining table feel like the center of the world.

We remodel homes for a living,
But you taught us the real craft:
How to build a life that lasts.
How to fix what’s broken with patience.
How to make something beautiful out of the everyday.

who suffer the treason of destiny —
separated from their families by circumstance,
by distance, by storms they didn’t choose.__
To you: we see your quiet strength.
We send you cheers and an applause
for the best, best, best thing that will come to you.
May hope find its way home, and may love meet you there.

but went to represent the angels —
one day we will find each other again!__

Mamá,
Antes de saber qué era una viga,
Tú nos enseñaste a mantenernos firmes.
Antes de aprender de muros de carga,
Tú ya cargabas con todo.

No necesitaste planos.
Tu amor midió cada cuarto en latidos,
No en metros cuadrados.
Llenaste los espacios vacíos con cuentos antes de dormir,
Convertiste los rayones del piso en recuerdos,
E hiciste que la mesa del comedor fuera el centro del mundo.

Nosotros remodelamos casas para vivir,
Pero tú nos enseñaste el verdadero oficio:
Cómo construir una vida que dure.
Cómo reparar lo roto con paciencia.
Cómo hacer algo hermoso de lo cotidiano.

__Y hoy también abrazamos a las madres
que sufren la traición del destino —
separadas de sus familias por las circunstancias,
por la distancia, por tormentas que no eligieron.__
A ustedes: vemos su fuerza silenciosa.
Les mandamos un brindis y un aplauso
por lo mejor, mejor, mejor que está por venirles.
Que la esperanza encuentre el camino a casa,
