Had the privilege to take a great group of students to Crystal Bridges! They saw the ‘Get in the Game: Sports, Art,Culture’ exhibit! If you haven’t visited it yet you’re missing out!

Making clay monsters! The focus is correct clay techniques and adding texture. Some struggle with the feeling of clay under their fingernails 😅

Hamblen and Clark’s classes worked hard individually to make this collaborative mural inspired by ! It sure brightens up the

SWJH art students are working hard on a community service project in partnership with Ms. Clark’s sister who teaches 1st grade. The students drew monsters and our art students are making those monsters come to life by turning them into to stuffed animals. The students have really loved doing this project.

Helen Tyson 7th graders went with Ms. Hamblen to Crystal Bridges today! They learned about materials and mediums.

Such a sweet gesture! Made my day!

So, over the summer we had some students move schools that we should have here at Southwest. We love to see them continuing their art education at Central. We love it more when Mrs. Wright shares their art with us! We miss you Danity! We are so proud of you and this looks amazing! Keep it up!
