During EDS Awareness Month, we want to emphasize something important:
Rehab should be individualized.

The right plan may include:
• stability work
• endurance training
• proprioceptive retraining
• controlled strengthening
• posture and movement correction
• progression based on response

The goal is not to punish the body.
The goal is to teach it better support.

If you’re dealing with hypermobility, instability, or chronic pain, message us to see whether an evaluation makes sense.

EDS is not one single presentation.

There are multiple EDS subtypes, and symptoms can overlap with other connective tissue disorders.
That is part of why diagnosis can be complicated.

Good evaluation matters.
Good history matters.
Good pattern recognition matters.

If someone has unexplained hypermobility, chronic pain, tissue fragility, repeated instability, or a strong family history, it deserves thoughtful attention.

One of the most encouraging parts of rehab:
People can build more control, more confidence, and more function than they thought was possible.

Not overnight.
Not with random exercises.
Not by ignoring pain.

But with the right progression, many people move from surviving their body… to understanding it and supporting it.
Small gains count.
They add up.

EDS myth:
“If you are flexible, you should stretch more.”
Reality:
Many people with hypermobility need more stability, control, and strength — not endless stretching.
Mobility without control can feed pain and instability.

A better question is:
Can your body control the range you already have?
Save this post if that question changed how you think about rehab.
