Figured you guys have seen enough hardwood for a day or two so I will switch it up on you all with this quick little LVP job we knocked out in Mt. Vernon yesterday for a new friend, Dylan Gettinger, who is a local builder in the area! Hopefully you all will get to see more projects that me and him team up on in the future!
••
Dylan did most of the work on this one for us by removing the existing floor, pulling the appliances and removing the trim! This made it even quicker and easier for us to run in and hand scrape some old glue off the concrete substrate, sweep and vacuum, and then lay out some 6 mil moisture barrier to protect his new LVP from any concrete sweating that may occur! Jobs like these make our days gravy, and backs happy!
••
Summer is charging in, and so are the calls for bids! We love to see it and can’t believe the support we are getting from hardwood floor side of things! We do love our hardwoods, but floating floors are still a great option for almost every home we are in! Feel free to ask about both and yes, we absolutely will quote jobs in multiple ways if you would like to see the difference. Call as soon as possible for any upcoming projects as there won’t be much more room in June after this week!

One of the most sensitive, beautiful, time taking, stressful, and expensive products we produce is a sanded and refinished hardwood floor. It takes a ton of time, knowledge, effort and a SUPER amount of money to create the master piece that is a Deulen Flooring finished floor. It can’t be rushed, I’ve tried and it never works. You don’t get to skip a step to hurry the process and meet a deadline. There is no overlooking a single detail, and there is no handbook, that will actually work, that explains how to sand all hardwood floors because there is no two hardwood floors that will be the same. The guys that are good at this got good at this by trial and error. Losing money, losing sleep, watching videos, making phone calls, and setting egos aside do perfect their craft and to learn their process to make each and every floor a perfect job.
••
Be particular and careful with the guys that you choose to change your hardwoods, trust your contractor, and listen to their recommendations. Most of us have done this long enough and experienced enough while doing these types of floors to know what’s best. Any suggestions we make, steps we take, or methods in which we use come from years of experience. Follow along, and you will come out with a perfect floor. Don’t, and expect to repair flooring at your own expense!

GOOOOOOOD MORNING! Happy to wake you guys up with a wonderful hardwood post. This is a back hallway from a floor we previously did. If you remember recently we did a big hardwood weave through the middle of the kitchen, thanks for a refrigerator leak, and then sanded the whole thing down and stained it in Early American from bona! Well, this is the back connecting hallway!
••
Most usually we will not two piece a connecting floor, pretty much never have, but this case was special. This job is being done for an elderly couple that resides in the residence pretty much full-time. They quite literally could not live in their house without me doing this two different sessions. So you will see at the end when I post my final pictures that we are going to blend this into our original floor with the stain and poly and hopefully have no noticeable transition. Although very difficult, I do believe we can make it look perfect!
••
The pictures that you see now are in the middle of our process. What you see on the ground is our wood filler, and this will be our last coat of wood filler before we finish our sanding and begin to stain! Although you’ve already seen most mostly what this floor will look like in my previous posts we will put some pictures up at the end of the finished product along with pictures of the other room where we’ve landed together!
••
I’ve had more calls for hardwood floors this year than I ever have and I really appreciate you guys sharing my name! Keep it up and we will continue to show up for all of our customers!

Glue down, say what?! Yes…it is true. We have went to the dark side and started slinging some glue down, and you know what? It’s not bad!
••
We’ve never done glue down until this year and we just knocked out apartments 2 and 3 for my friend Brandon Clay over at Flooring Liquidators! Although it is not my favorite to do, there are a few perks like cost effectiveness, extremely easy to repair, and speed of installation!
••
If you have and questions about what floor is best for you or your home, be sure to reach out. In most instances floating floors will still be highly recommended by my company, but if you would like a quote for a multi plex, apartments, business or basement, be sure to talk to me about your glue down options!
