Meet Syd!
Springfield, Oregon 🗺

Pronouns: He/Him/His

🇵🇭 About me:
I’m a proud Filipino immigrant raised in Los Angeles, and have been living in Eugene/Springfield since 2014. I graduated from the University of Oregon in 2018 with a degree in Political Science and Planning, Public Policy & Management. I fell in love with Oregon and Eugene/Springfield specifically because of its access to all the outdoor recreation. I believe bikes are for everyone whether they are used as a tool to empower people to get to work/a store or recreationally to enjoy a beautiful day with your friends/family. Bottom line is that our streets should be designed to accommodate safe biking for all especially our most vulnerable users!

🏔 Favorite cycling memories:
I love biking whether it is to commute, cruising along the river, or climbing the nearest hill. My favorite bike memory was going on a 4 day bike packing trip with my girlfriend and our friends. It has also been wonderful riding with this club and having friends to explore new roads with.

⚾️ Hobbies:
When I’m not biking, you can find me running, hiking or camping. I’m also a huge sports fantatic and love all things Ducks, Lakers, Dodgers, and the Chargers. I also love a good beer and burrito.

🚲 Bike set up:
I have 3 bikes in addition to my girlfriend’s 3 bikes in our tiny apartment. You can likely find me on my Trek Checkpoint ALR 5, bike packing/touring on my Surly Long Haul Trucker or mashing around town on my single speed bike.

💻Work: I am a Transportation Planner for the Lane Council of Governments.
