💙 Group B Strep (GBS) Awareness
Did you know? About 1 in 5 pregnant women worldwide carry Group B Strep (GBS), often without symptoms. While GBS is usually harmless for adults, it is the leading cause of serious infections in newborns in the U.S. if left undetected and untreated.
Routine screening during pregnancy typically between 36–37 weeks, helps identify GBS so preventive treatment can protect babies from life-threatening infections like sepsis and meningitis. Awareness and early screening save lives.
