Time management tip for the day:
Of course, this does not apply if you have family meals together because engaging with your family is much more important than anything else during a meal. However, if you eat alone frequently, as I do, that is an excellent time to multitask. While I'm eating, I will check on my social media and text with friends and sometimes read a book or catch up on a TV show.
The same can hold true while you are performing other activities. If you are cooking something that does not require your constant attention, you can multitask during that time as well. If I'm browning hamburger for tacos or spaghetti, I will take that opportunity to unload and/or load the dishwasher or go through the fridge looking for any outdated foods that need to be thrown away or get my trash and/or recycling ready to go outside & put fresh bags in the cans.
The more you are able to multitask while doing other activities, the more time you will free up for yourself to spend time with family and friends or engaging in a hobby or activity that you enjoy doing. Most of us have very busy lives and we appreciate every free moment we can find for pleasure and enjoyment.
I hope this tip has helped some of you and you're able to make more time for yourselves during your days!
Tip of the Day!
Do you have a problem area in your home that always seems to be cluttered or messy? Maybe you pile everything on your dining room table or have dirty dishes filling your sink. Maybe you're like me and use the coffee table as a catch-all until you can't even see the table itself. Maybe you have multiple areas that you have trouble keeping straightened up and clean.
My tip is to take one of these areas and make it a priority to clean it up before you go to bed every night. I have had an ongoing issue with keeping my coffee table clean. Now I get rid of all of my trash or any plates, utensils from eating that day and straighten anything up that was knocked over by my freeloading felines before bed every night. This way it is a 3-4 minute job instead of being half an hour when you let it get out of control and piled sky-high.
It's excellent to wake up and have it be clean instead of a cluttered mess. If your issue is dishes, make it a point to wash them after every meal or, if you're lucky like me and have a dishwasher, load it as you go and then you don't have a sink full of dirty dishes.
Whatever your problem area is, it will take several weeks for a new habit to form and remember to deal with it every evening.
If you have multiple problem areas, do not try 2 deal with them all at the same time. It will become overwhelming and you will become stressed and most likely give up because it seems like too much. Make one area a priority for a month and when that becomes habit, add another area that you need to deal with daily. Before you know it, your kitchen will be cleaner or your dining room table won't be cluttered or you will actually have places to set things on your coffee table!
