The process of relocating to live near family is complicated enough, and choosing to downsize can be overwhelming. For my clients, they realized unfortunately after getting under contract a few days ago that the last home was the wrong house for them. Thankfully the sellers worked with us on this change.
After doing all the home tours, they had chosen a truly beautiful and fabulous home, but they realized that less stairs into their front door and from the garage was more important to them for aging. They also want to host all of the kids and grandkids at their house. They want room to enjoy and explore hobbies in retirement now that they actually have time to pursue those interests. Downsizing doesn’t actually have to be a huge reduction in square footage. It can be changing to the right floor plan, accessibility for aging, and possibly even selecting a neighborhood that has amenities to enjoy that you don’t have to maintain at your personal property that helps with the visits with grandchildren!
As a buyers agent, I really listen to my clients lifestyle needs and wants to help advocate for the right home for the next season.
