🇺🇸 Some of my favorite memories start with pie.

This little patriotic display reminded me of summers growing up and my mom’s homemade pies.

She made wonderful pies with favorites being coconut cream and custard pies. Summertime favorite was always her strawberry pie—a recipe she got from my Aunt Dean. Mom made her pie crust from scratch, and when strawberries were in season, she’d sometimes bake extra crust just so we could pile fresh berries on top. My dad actually preferred that over strawberry shortcake!

It’s funny how a simple pie plate can bring back so many sweet memories. ❤️

Before farmhouse décor was trending, doilies were already decorating homes across America.

Many were lovingly crocheted by hand, one stitch at a time, often gifted to family members or displayed proudly on tables, dressers, and armchairs. ❤️

Today they’re being repurposed into beautiful works of art like this one.
