Finally ventured into the neighborhood. The sun breaking through the cloud cover created the most amazing colors.

This is an anchor, I know that’s hard to tell, at Founders Park in Old Town Alexandria. They change the sculptures there periodically. This one was interesting. A challenge to photograph including the sunrise.

20260504, a fresh beginning.

This is from my patio, very early this morning, 4 May, 2023. I’d say it must have been about 0558. The owl you see is amazing sculpture on a post with my bird houses. My own side garden is getting a facelift this year. Hope for many more birds, butterflies and pollinators.

This was one of the 1st moments I ventured from my patio. The sky was this amazing gold. I couldn’t find a place to pull over that would give me the view that I needed. It hadn’t yet occurred to me to go to the river and on this day by the time I got there it would have been too late. I was just in a parking lot in alexandria. It was in April. Not sure of the date. April 2023.

I was taking sunrise pictures near The Torpedo Factory one morning and as I turned, the sunrise was reflected the the big windows of the art space. Never thought to look behind me. 😀
