Dive-In Movie Night- See details below
Springfield Aquatics to host “Dive-In Movie Night” at Forest Park Pool
Swimmers take your mark! Mayor Domenic J. Sarno, along with the City of Springfield Parks & Recreation Department is starting this summer season off with a Dive-In Move Night on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 (*Rain Date: Wednesday, July 1, 2026).
Mayor Sarno, Department of Parks, Buildings, and Recreation Management (PBRM) Director Thomas Ashe, and Aquatics Director Joseph Federico are excited to kick-off the beginning of the city’s public pool season, as well as be the first of many movie nights this summer.
The event will take place at Forest Park Pool, and will begin with a neighborhood pool party from 5:00pm – 8:00pm. During this time, any Springfield resident is free to utilize the pool, have fun in our splash pad, play a variety of yard games, listen to live music with local talent Alex Rohan, and even enjoy some tasty treats! We will also have staff on site that will be issuing free pool passes for the summer. So, if you wish to use any of our public pool locations this summer, feel free to sign up for your pool pass that day!
Following the neighborhood pool party, we will be showing the movie, Finding Nemo, in the field next to the pool starting promptly at 8:30 p.m. Please feel free to bring any chairs, blankets, or picnic essentials to optimize your movie experience!
This event is just one example of the City of Springfield’s Park & Recreation Department’s strong commitment to provide safe, fun, and memorable experiences for our residents. As with almost all of our events, this movie night will be free of charge for all Springfield residents.
Mayor Sarno states, “Summer is almost here, and our beautiful parks have so much to offer for families to enjoy. Some of us are not able to go away on a summer vacation. But what better way to celebrate summer than with this great free, family-friendly activity, outdoors in our beautiful parks? My administration is committed to continuing to enhance the quality of life for our residents with these types of family-fun entertainment. I want to thank PBRM Director Tom Ashe, Aquatics Director Joe Federico, all our dedicated lifeguards, and all our Aquatics and Parks staff, for putting together this wonderful free, and family-friendly recreational opportunity. The Dive-In Movie Night at Forest Park Pool is going to be a summer night to remember. The fun won’t stop there, you can also sign up for your pool pass to use all summer long. From our splash pads and aquatics programs, to our concerts and movies in the park, and the return of paddle boats – we hope residents will take advantage and have some summer fun in the city!”
