Officer Mason completed 17 weeks of rigorous academic, physical, and practical instruction. Training continues with additional weeks of post basic training, followed by an intensive 12 week minimum field training program.

Additional Agencies: US Marshals – Vermont District, Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section, Holyoke MA Police Department, Vermont State Police, Vermont Fish & Wildlife, Weathersfield Police Department - VT.

Date/Time of Incident/Arrest: 5/7/26 1455 Hrs

Location: Central St, Springfield VT

Defendant: Daniel Medina, 22 years old of Holyoke, MA

Summary of Incident:

On 5/7/26 Springfield Police Department personnel assisted the above outside agencies with the arrest of fugitive Daniel Medina who was wanted warrant for homicide in Massachusetts. Outside agency personnel detained Medina in the area of Central St and Church St and turned him over to Springfield PD for fugitive proceedings.

Medina was turned over to Southern State Correctional Facility for lack of bail/cash surety bond and given a court date of 5/8/26 at 12:30pm Superior Court in White River Junction.
