Celebrating our incredible volunteers who truly are everyday heroes! With more than 35,000 hours of service and hearts full of compassion, you make our mission shine and brighten lives across the Springfield area.

Staff and volunteers embraced the superhero theme at the annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner by dressing in creative costumes and capes. While some heroes may wear capes, our volunteers show their heroism through their time, kindness and compassionate hearts. Because of our volunteers, lives are brighter, days are easier, and our mission is stronger. Their dedication continues to make a lasting impact on patients, families and employees across the Springfield area.

Thank you for your dedication, kindness and for making a lasting impact!

During Nurses Week, Mercy Health — Springfield recognized the contributions of our outstanding nursing professionals with the Nursing Excellence Awards. These awards recognize not only nurses, but the co-workers, friends and teams that make it all possible.

Our 2026 theme: Faith, Excellence and Compassion: The Power of Nurses, is made real in busy shifts and hard, quiet moments when nurses steady a room, lift a family and care for each other too.

Here's to our award winners, selected by their peers, for this honor!

A quick skin check could make a life-changing difference.

Melanoma is one of the most aggressive forms of skin cancer, but when caught early, it is highly treatable. Know the signs:
• New or changing moles
• Spots that don't heal
• Areas that itch or bleed
