Good advice…
OK hunters, it's that time of the year again. Deer season! Are you ready? Meaning, have you stayed physically fit in the off-season? Quietly walking steep hills in the cold air, the excitement of harvesting your trophy buck and then the drag out, if you don't have a four wheeler, are very taxing activities on the cardiovascular system. So beware! The morning jolt of caffeine, followed by anticipatory exertion in cold air and an extremely excited successful harvest and drag out can be more than enough to overload/overwork the unconditioned/deconditioned heart. So, be mindful that even very good excitement is very stressful on a deconditioned cardiovascular system and you need to control your excitement and pace yourself. A good plan that many hunters use as a means of communication, is a cell phone or walkie-talkies. Others use a designated number of loud pistol shots, signaling that they need immediate help. Everyone in your hunting party should know basically where everyone else is at least starting out the day. Stay safe. Remember to breathe. Good luck!🦌
