Despite all the challenges we've faced this semester, it was still filled with new tricks, new opportunities, and new friendships!
Here is a little recap of our semester!

At the beginning of the semester we ran into an issue that will forever change the way we run our club. Apparently we HAVE to have insurance to be able to practice and host events on campus since we use a rigging mechanism. This information was never conveyed to our club and was said to be optional in the meetings that we must attend yearly to re-register our club with MSU. Multiple entities including members from our club have tried everything we can to find an insurance company that will cover us but have yet to find a provider. What this means for us is that until we have insurance as an organization (not individually) we must find an indoor location to practice and perform at over the winter months and possibly into the spring if we are still without insurance. So far that too has been quite the struggle since most places are not open or renting out their gymnasiums/large spaces due to covid. The upside to using MSU's facilities versus finding an off campus location is that we don't have to pay to practice on campus, it is a budget friendly place to host events, and it allows more members to attend our meetings, especially those who do not drive. Without practicing we cannot perform and if we cannot perform then we cannot gain performance experience or make money to expand our club.. With all of that said we will be converting our normal practices into conditioning practices that will take place at the Foster Recreation Center on MSU campus and we'll be hosting more fundraisers to make up for the lost income. We are very sad to have to hang up the silks for now since we are without an option moving into the colder months and even more upset that we are unable to perform for all of you this semester. BUT we will be back and we will be stronger than ever! We will not let these obstacles defeat us!
Please don't hesitate to reach out to us if you have any information that can help us figure out our situation as far as finding an indoor location to practice at or insurance providers that will cover an organization such as ourselves.
