We are so excited to invite you to the Faith & the Arts Academy at First & Calvary. This isn't just a camp—it’s a week where gospel seeds are planted through the beauty of the arts for children (ages 8-12).

This year, we have an incredible lineup of 7 specialized tracks!

2026 Art Tracks include:
✨ Mixed Media: Painting and printmaking wooden tile crosses.
🌳 Acrylic Painting: Creating a vibrant "Tree of Life" on canvas.
📖 Picture Books: Writing and illustrating a complete original story.
🎭 Musical Theatre: Performing an ensemble number with choreography.
💃 Praise Dance: Exploring worship through liturgical movement.
🥁 Drumming: Percussion and ensemble skills for a Friday performance.

📅 When: July 6-10 | 9:00 AM – 12:15 PM

Cost: $50 per child (includes a t-shirt and materials). Scholarships are available by need on a limited basis.

Faith & the Arts Academy | First & Calvary Mixed Media: Create a wall-hanging cross by painting wooden tiles with brushes and simple printmaking techniques, then assembling them into a beautiful finished design.

Easter at First & Calvary ✝️

Three services. One overflowing sanctuary. And a message about seeds of doubt meeting seeds of hope.

On Easter Sunday, F&C gathered across three services — 8:45, 9:45, and 11:00 AM — and the building was full in the best possible way. Stained glass, pipe organ, choir robes, brass, and somewhere in the middle of it all, a lot of kids in their Easter best gathered up front for the children's message.

Between services, from 9:20 to 10:45, we spilled into the fellowship hall for Easter Brunch — bright tablecloths, tulips, good food, better conversation. The kind of meal where nobody's in a hurry to leave.

Pastor Don preached from Psalm 147 and John 3, asking a question most of us have carried at some point: Does God actually delight in me? His answer, drawn straight from the text, was both honest and quietly stunning — God doesn't delight in the people who flex hardest for him. He delights in the ones who stop performing and start hoping. In hesed — that stubborn, covenantal, won't-let-you-go kind of love that put Jesus on a cross and pulled him out of a tomb.

Seeds of doubt, he said, are universal. But Easter has a way of planting something else in the mix.

Christ is risen. He is risen indeed.

Alpha | First & Calvary Alpha is a series of group conversations that explore the basics of the Christian faith in a friendly environment. It’s a place to connect with people, where you can say anything you like or nothing at all. Everyone’s welcome. You’re invited, no matter your background or beliefs.

Our Good News Easter Celebration was more than just a fun day...it was a journey! We loved seeing families gather to hear the powerful story of the Gospel.

The morning began with special guest appearances from the thief on the cross and Mary Magdalene. And then the creativity was in full bloom! From building detailed resurrection gardens to making earthquake shakers and resurrection eggs, our kids brought the gospel story to life with their own hands.

Every family who joined us took home a copy of The Action Bible Easter: 25 Stories about Jesus' Resurrection. We are so excited for these stories to continue sparking conversations about Jesus in your homes!

Thank you to our volunteers and staff who made this such a joyful, Christ-centered celebration.
