Exciting News. Next week our clinician, Melinda, will start a certification training to integrate somatic experiencing into practice at Salve Regina Counseling Center. Somatic experiencing (SE) is a therapeutic approach focused on resolving trauma and stress-related symptoms by working with the body's physical sensations. SE helps individuals to become aware of and regulate their nervous system responses, moving from states of overwhelm and shutdown to greater resilience and wholeness.

Therapy is not just a professional service, but a deeply human encounter. Our lives and stories are sacred. The client's experience from intake to conclusion, it becomes part of the therapist’s own journey as well.

And the therapist’s role does not simply stop at the end of the therapy but continues in a more subtle, prayerful way.
