Progressive spent 3.49Billion dollars in advertisement in 2024.

Let's break down a few things that happened on Progressive claims last year alone.

Progressive took total loss fee's out of a customer's settlement without telling them. Because the standard fees they had been paying since I have been open were now above industry standard. They sent a tow truck driver without the correct payment to pick up a total loss 2 days in a row. The additional storage the vehicle accumulated was deducted from that settlement, also without telling the customer. Just sent them a check.

Now they locate parts from all over the country. If they find a door for 250 bucks in Texas that's all they want to pay. Even if you can't purchase that door. According to them "that's all they owe."

Spend two weeks handling the initial estimate and supplement. You run out of rental because they took way too long. Guess who's not going to pay for the additional days you need your rental car for.

OEM procedures on how your supposed to fix a vehicle... Progressive only sees them as suggestions but "not required". Progressive, the company that owes you money, has the right to determine how much they owe you. I have read it in the policy language for myself. That means they get to decide... not you or the repair professionals.

The fact of the matter is they don't mind spending 9 million dollars a day in advertisements. They would rather do that, then do right by you as a customer.

Be careful of who you choose your insurance with. I know money is tight and that seems appealing, but in the event of a loss it could cost you money out of pocket to get your car repaired.

The consistent theme is this... Insurance Companies that spend a ton of money in advertisement take your money and invest into things that don't align with playing your claim or making restitution. Those companies only care about one thing, acquiring more people to take money from.
