Today I would like to introduce my lead assistant (and apprentice) - Rhianna. πŸŽ‰ It's a crazy story of how we met. I went to Starbucks β˜•οΈ one early morning to meet up with my kiddo before school. It's important to know, this is not a normal or typical thing for me to do. She came in and asked me if I was the person she was meeting for a job interview. I told her, I'm sorry but I am not hiring at this time. I said this yet fully knowing that I did need to hire someone, but financially it wasn't in my budget. As I waited on my kiddo, editing some images, I noticed that no one was meeting her. Feeling compassion that she was getting stood up, I asked...what job were you interviewing for? She said it was a position that helped a lady to manage things who worked with foster kids. Being a former foster child myself, I was definitely intrigued so I engaged in some small talk. This is when she shared that she was a photographer, just moved here, doesn't need much but something would help as she rebuilds a client base. This is when I shared that I was a photographer and have been for 30+ years. I showed her my images that I was working on and invited to join our local photographers network. This is when she asked if I would be interested in taking her on as an intern. I told her I was going out of town, and I would think about it but reach out to me next week. On Monday morning at 8am, she called. I was so impressed by her initiative that I asked her to meet with me. I broke down my plan and what I needed to achieve. I didn't have much right now but as I rebuild the business, I will be able to hire her. I am so excited as we have finally made it to the point of needing headshots and business cards as I am finally able to bring her in as my assistant and apprentice. ❀ I am so excited for this new chapter of Lamb Portrait Studio and especially excited to share it with someone that has helped me to bring it to life. πŸ“·

My landlord has given me the opportunity to redo our sign for the building. Today we started taking down the tenant panels on the south side when Mother Nature chose violence with the threat of baseball sized hail!! 😳 When we heard the first drops of rain we were able to quickly pack up ourselves soooooo tomorrow seems like a good day to restart. 😁 Besides the ground is too wet and I need to find a ladder leveler. Or maybe I should just rent some scaffolding - either way, I need to clean and prep it before we install the new panels.
