Dog Bowl Shelf

1. Use an old IKEA or Walmart shelf. This one is made of particle board. It is easier to cut with the saw than wood.

2. Trace the outside of the bottom of the bowl and the top of the bowl against the shelf. You’ll have two circles, one inside the other.

3. Cut in between the two circles with a Jig Saw. Do the best you can. They most likely won’t be even, but the bowls will cover the imperfections.

4. Sand the imperfections on the shelf and circle cut area.

5. Paint and finish the shelf. I used chalk paint because of the material of the shelf (particle board). Finish with a strong polyurethane. Since dogs drip water as they drink, a stronger finish to protect the shelf is necessary.

6. Let dry and hang the shelf. Use a level. Make sure to hang it on the studs of the wall because the bowls will be heavy when filled.

This is the I’ve been . I am so in love with the that I couldn’t wait to show it off!! The contracting team worked really hard on this. Word to the wise, these cable railing systems are not easy to install but totally worth it!
