Yesterday, Helene struck Florida’s Big Bend as a Category 4 hurricane, causing monumental destruction across its path. Many people are left without a home and in urgent need of help as they begin the recovery process.

On August 28, 2024, approximately 40 individuals from various ministries in Chicago gathered together for a productive meeting. The focus of the gathering was to explore the significance of the age of creation and its foundational importance. The event proved to be a fruitful and enriching experience for all attendees.

According to the Annual Homeless Assessment Report to Congress (2022), on a single night in January 2022, there were over 582,000 people experiencing homelessness in the United States.

- Jewish population in the US:

The Jewish population in the United States is estimated to be around 5.8 million, which is approximately 1.8% of the total US population.

- Jews living in or near poverty:

According to the Jewish Journal, close to 20% of the Jewish population in the United States lives in or near poverty, which translates to around 1.16 million people .

- Homelessness among Jewish communities: While there isn't a specific number for Jewish people experiencing homelessness, some organizations and communities are working to address homelessness among Jewish populations.
