4th of July weekended kicked off with a meeting in Boston for the release of the SHILED report, which is a action plan for the Commonwealth to “Play Defense on Offense” and ensure Massachusetts continues to be a leader in innovation, national defense and advanced manufacturing.

SHIELD (Strategic Hub for Innovation, Exchange and Leadership in Defense) was established by Massachusetts Governor Healey and Lt. Governor Driscoll through Executive Order #648, signed on October 27th, and creating the SHIELD Working Group. The MassTech Collaborative is the named Chair of the SHIELD Working Group, and the Western Mass Economic Development Council was among the working group member along with partners from state government, industry, and the MA Defense Sector.
