It's always a treat to attend the Southeastern Animal Fiber Fair, aka SAFF. For anyone who loves playing with yarns and fibers; it's a 4 day celebration of color, texture and creativity held every year on the 3rd weekend in October in Fletcher, NC.

One of my not so little secrets, in an attempt to broaden my color choices, is that I often begin a piece building on a color scheme created by another artist - usually based upon their hand-dyed colorways. And, SAFF is a perfect place to find treasures to be inspired by.

Way back in 2023, or maybe even 2022; I met Amy of Pandoras yarn. She had some packaged kits of rug yarn, left over from a class. When I bought it, I promised her that I would show her what I turned her wonderful yarn into. Yesterday, I finally got to fulfill that promise when I showed her photos of Sherwood. Almost all of the yarn on Sherwood came from Amy's kit.

We had a little more time to talk this time and it was another of those amazing moments when two people found they had so very much in common; beyond our love for creating things with colorful yarns.

I look forward to seeing her again next year when I can hopefully show her the piece I created with the beautiful brown chenille she gave me this year.
