Rowyn having some riding fun and confidence building with Patty! Carrying a flag means that you need to be able to ride one handed, your flag leg is restricted by the flag poke attachment and hopefully your horse will tolerate the flag whipping around! Great job!

Tick season is here! If you are in a wooded area, seed ticks are active now! Best and most economical way we have found to control the ticks on our horses is to mix one equispot with 6-8 ounces of water in a spray bottle, shake well and spray all over horse. Concentrate the spray on legs, midline and chest. It lasts about 3-4 weeks. Reapply when you find live ticks again on your horse. Yes there are some good natural solutions out there, but most have to be reapplied more often. Good Luck!

Chip chip is truly a one of a kind….. “unicorn” lesson horse. He is shown filling his role as a unicorn at the birthday party today! Thank you Susan Smith for donating this wonderful guy to our program. He’s priceless!

Here’s the second part of facts associated with the EVH-1 outbreak last year. Stacey Huntington with Springfield Equine Services has graciously researched the outbreak and how it occurred. Part one was posted 3days ago on this account.
Valley Water Mill Equestrian Center is committed to continuing equestrian education at all levels. Dr. Huntington has agreed to develop several articles to post about relevant equine topics. If you want more information on a particular topic, please comment and we will try to address your questions. It’s nice to know what happened last year as we transition to show season!
