Procedure done & back home. It went well. Just feel like I got hit in the abdomen really hard by something after running a 5k.
Thanks for support & prayers friends!!
Hey all! I wanted to come on here to say if you're feeling any bit under the weather in the next few weeks, I am requiring you either wear a mask or reschedule. I know my scheduling is tight & wonky right now, but my immune system isn't the greatest at the moment & I have to protect it.
Thanks for understanding!

Hey guys, just wanting to share dates I will be out of the salon. In just a couple of weeks, I will be out in California for annual Sexy Hair hair conference. Then mid February, I will be having a very routine surgery with a 2-week recovery.
My schedule has to be incredibly tightly managed at the moment, so if you do not have a standing appointment, I cannot fit anything extra in right now. I still have many of you to reach out for March booking so please be patient.
Thank you all for understanding!

Something I'm keeping a very watchful eye on is Missouri Governor's plan for wanting to eliminate our income tax. While we haven't seen his plan yet, it has the potential to go bad in a hurry. (Kansas doing the same thing within the past years is #1 example)
Kristen, why does this matter to you as a hairstylist/barber?
Great question, I'm glad you asked. Lol
If income tax is eliminated, they HAVE to tax elsewhere to keep our state's economy going. One of those routes would be to increase sales tax. Currently, we set at 3%. It could be raised up to 12%. This means clothing, appliances, & you guessed it, hair products!!
Since the 2020 pandemic & tariffs, we have seen HUGE jumps in prices for our color/chemical products, for our retail products, & more. Which means service & retail prices have to naturally rise to ensure we are covering our costs.
Another route that could be brought forward is revisiting the service tax proposal that failed in 2016. This would be putting a tax on services, like getting your hair done.
I'm not here to debate or be politically aggressive.
I'm simply here to inform of something that has huge potential to negatively affect my industry/career.

From bright blonde to chill br-onde
From long wedding hair, chopped at her reception, to a shorter chop this winter.
Color wise, we did a reverse balayage & just matched her natural color, along with toning down the left out brighter blonde pieces.
Haircut wise, Hannah has thick hair with varying textures throughout. I had to take into consideration what those various textures are going to create.
Example : she's really coarse & highly fuzzy at the bottom of her neck & by her ears. Yet, just above that is very thick. This tells me I need to see how much the coarse hair is going to shrink up, as well thinning some of the areas out just above that. We decreased some of her bulkiest areas, while keeping in mind her troublesome spots so they're easy to smooth down with products.
