Over the years since 1989, SLA has leased some unusual assets. Two standouts:

🏈 A high school turf field for the Town of South Windsor – $1.5 million.
🛢️ 30,000 automated containers for the City of Springfield – another $1.8 million ($60 each).

The bank wanted one lump payment and a container-by-container repossession plan. I told them: “Picture a repo team, or me 😂, chasing 30,000 trash barrels — excuse me, automated containers — down Main Street…” The bank SVP did not want to help😂 in that unlikely municipal event. These automated containers are everywhere now and only requires one person on the truck, not two, saving money.

Fun memories and proof that municipal leasing is about unique structuring:
• The town or city gets what it needs.
• The bank gets secured.
• And no one has to repossess the 50-yard line or an automated container.
