Our Story

Rick and Karen Hughlett founded Rick's Automotive, Inc. in 1980. What has become a multi-operational enterprise initially started with two employees in a rented 2,500 square foot building. Today, Rick’s Automotive sits on a full 28,000 square foot campus, complete with a tire shop and l**e facility in Springfield, MO.

We’re the award-winning experts at Southwest Missouri’s premier auto repair shop. Rick's Automotive technicians and mechanics have more than 500 years of experience among us. We’re all ASE certified, even the service advisors, and most of our auto technicians are "Master Certified," including Rick himself. Six hold the prestigious L-1 certification for advanced automotive diagnostics. And, most importantly, all are competently trained to utilize the state-of-the-art equipment featured in our automotive and fleet service centers.

Since 1980, Rick's Automotive has been the best place to have your car repaired in Springfield, MO. In addition to our auto repair shop, we have an extensive tire shop where we sell a variety of new tires from the best brands in the industry, including Michelin Tires. New tires help increase your traction on wet or icy roads and help improve your gas mileage. We also offer a preventative maintenance program which we recommend to all of our customers so we can catch problems with your vehicle early, saving you money in the long run. Rick's Automotive knows how much you love your car, and we will do everything we can to keep it running well for years to come.
