Singing, humming, whistling or producing pitch from your voice helps you to find the notes that you hear. It is you that becomes the instrument. You don't have to have a great voice to learn pitch associations. If you have never attempted singing you will have hard time playing them on any instrument. Singing lessons are a good because they help your association with pitch and tone. Don't be afraid to start warbling. Shouting, humming and screaming can help break your voice out of monotonous prison.

If you try to speed up your playing, NEVER play with any tension in your hands. Slow, in time and quietly. STOP when hand tires.
