Hospital Sisters of St. Francis gather to celebrate 150-year legacy that started in Germany Hospital Sisters Health System celebrations extend across ministries in Illinois and Wisconsin.

At Hospital Sisters Health System, we believe that immigration policy should be approached with nuance, not extremes. Our CEO Damond Boatwright shares why thoughtful, compassionate solutions are essential for the well-being of our communities and healthcare system.

“Like the U.S., HSHS was founded by immigrants. Our founders were 20 non-English-speaking women — the Hospital Sisters — who arrived from Germany with the clothes on their backs, a powerful sense of faith and resolute courage,” Boatwright shared.

Friday is a national day of awareness to highlight how America’s hospitals and health systems combat violence in their workplaces and communities. HSHS joins American Hospital Association today in taking a stand against violence against health care workers.
