πŸŽ“ Congratulations to the gradutes of the NAACP Back to School – Stay in School program!

Surrounded by family, friends, District 186 leaders, and community supporters, students were celebrated for their hard work, perseverance, and commitment to reaching this important milestone. The evening was made even more special by inspiring speeches and the presentation of certificates by Superintendent Jennifer Gill, Incoming Superintendent Dr. Terrance Jordan, Mr. Timothy Allen, and Dr. Erica Austin.

This program has helped students stay on the path to graduation. We look forward to seeing these graduates walk across the stage with their boundary schools on June 6.

🌟 Congratulations, graduates! Your future is bright. πŸŽ“

It was a great night at Eisenhower Park as the Springfield Southeast High School Spartans hosted the Lanphier High School Lions for Senior Night! Spartan and Lion fans packed the stands and brought the energy all evening long while cheering on their teams.

The Spartans came away with the win, but both teams showed good effort, teamwork, and sportsmanship on the field. High school baseball teaches so much more than the game itself ,dedication, resilience, leadership, and the importance of working together toward a common goal.

Best of luck to both teams as they head into postseason play!

The Kierra Doss Peace Award is a treasured honor at Vachel Lindsay Elementary, celebrating 5th grade students who lead with kindness, help others, and shine as a bright light in their school community. πŸ’™βš‘

This year, Kevin, Harry, and Leah were selected by the Lindsay staff as recipients of this meaningful award in honor of beloved Lindsay staff member Kierra Doss, whose impact continues to be felt throughout the school.

Kierra’s son, and family were in attendance to help present the awards, making the moment even more special for students, staff, and families gathered together for the assembly.

Congratulations to these outstanding Lightning leaders for representing what it means to care for others and make Lindsay shine brighter every day! ⚑
