"The World at our Door" Local artist, Zac Hohensee, created the sculpture in January 2020 to express his feelings about the need for world unity and that we're all neighbors. Installed in the front garden of Rockwood Motor Court in May 2026 to celebrate the international friendships that are forged on Route 66. Zac built the sculpture using a 100 gallon propane tank for the globe, 1950's Ford tractor hub for the base, and his own welding ingenuity. It revolves 360 degrees on its axis. The piece weighs between 400-500 pounds. Painted, using 12 degree spaced latitude lines, the continents are placed and painted with a high level of accuracy in location, relative size, and topography. Your new photo op at the Rockwood.
