Because of the amount of requests we receive to stock books from local writers and the increase in books clearly written by A.I., we want to make our policy clear on stocking books written by A.I. as well as A.I. promotional material.

I do not have time to spend on this. I’m trying to run a bookstore and video store and getting half a dozen emails a day asking the to give our shelf space to books that are an eyesore is not how I want to spend my time. Beyond that, it’s not how we want our bookstore represented.

Going forward, this is our policy. And this is an aesthetic judgement rather than moral (we can discuss larger issues at an upcoming
future Footnote Salon discussion about A.I. coming soon).
