Ozarks Writing Project
Supporting writers of all ages with programs, activities, and professional development.
I'm delighted to invite Ozarks Writing Project teachers to a special evening celebrating writing, literacy, and the joy of teaching. Spots are limited. Certificates for Career Ladder (3.5 hours) are available.
Join us on Tuesday, June 16 for hors d'oeuvres and conversation from 5:30–6:30 p.m. In the Union Club in Plaster Student Union, followed by a Literacy Cabaret with author and educator Barry Lane from 6:30–8:00 p.m.
Barry Lane is a nationally recognized author, writing teacher, and performer whose work has inspired educators across the country to think differently about the writing classroom. The Literacy Cabaret is unlike any professional learning you've experienced—part workshop, part performance, all joy.
We hope you'll join us for what promises to be a memorable evening.
Please RSVP by June 5 to Eunice Obeng [email protected] or Keri Franklin at [email protected]
With warm regards,
Keri Franklin

Summer Institute orientation is this Saturday, May 2. If you have attended in the past, you are welcome
to join to reinvigorate yourself as a writer. The stipend is $750 for current K-12 teachers in Missouri or free graduate credit.
This will be a hybrid institute with all of the core things that matter—writing together, reading together, and learning from one another.
On campus dates are May 2, June 8-9-10, June 16 and 17.
Barry Lane wants to visit June 16 or June 17. Let Keri Franklin know if you are interested in attending his workshop. Spots are limited. OWP Teacher Consultants and those attending this summer have first dibs.
