FosterAdopt Connect Springfield

On June 6, 2026, members of our staff attended the Greene County Reunification Day Celebration held at the Dickerson Park Zoo. This special event honored families who worked diligently to reunify with their children following foster care placement by providing an evening of connection, fun, and recognition.
Families and youth were encouraged by remarks from Judge Hosmer and Judge Wichmer, who recognized the dedication and perseverance shown throughout the reunification process. This year, we also welcomed older youth from Teens N Transitions and YouthConnect Center programs to enjoy the evening alongside reunifying families.
For many guests, it was their very first visit to the zoo, making the experience even more meaningful. Families and youth enjoyed feeding and petting animals, unlimited train rides, popcorn, soda, ice cream, and raffle prizes. The evening celebrated resilience, strengthened connections, and created lasting memories for the families and youth in our community.

Today, Stassi, Hannah, and Camryn stopped by our office to deliver the proceeds from the lemonade stand they hosted last week in support of Sammy's Window! They set up outside Thompson Sales Company and Thompson generously matched the amount they raised, bringing their total gift to an incredible $1,000 for our Back to School Refuel event!

Some of our favorite gifts come from kids who are eager to help other kids in our community.
