SPD Peer Assistance and Care Team Hosts Police Softball Game
Springfield, Mass. — The Springfield Police Department’s PACT (Peer Assistance & Care Team) hosted a police softball game at Blunt Park on Saturday. Approximately 150 officers, family and friends attended or played in the game.
PACT members Sgt. Melissa Rodriguez, Officers Joshua Ramos-Pacheco, and Dan Moynahan, under the leadership of Lieutenant Mark Kenney, helped organize and coordinate the event with the goal of strengthening morale, camaraderie, and peer support throughout the department.
The event brought together officers from multiple shifts in a competitive but positive environment focused on teamwork, wellness, and relationship building outside the daily stressors of police work. Families were encouraged to attend, helping create an atmosphere centered around support and unity within the department.
After a hard-fought game, Squad B (Day Shift) teamed up with the “Rookies” (Class of 0526 that recently graduated the police academy) to secure a 13-10 victory over Squad A (Midnight Shift).
PACT would like to sincerely thank everyone who attended, participated, volunteered, and supported the event. The turnout and overwhelmingly positive atmosphere reinforced the importance of continuing opportunities that bring officers, supervisors, and families together.
