America cannot “go back to Jesus” because America has never followed Jesus in the first place. A nation built on stolen land, enslaved labor, segregation, lynching, racial terror, and systemic oppression cannot honestly pretend there was some golden age of Christian righteousness it needs to return to.

What Jesus sanctioned slavery?
What Jesus endorsed segregation?
What Jesus approved of r**e, lynching, voter suppression, mass incarceration, and the dehumanization of Black people?

This “Rededicate 250” movement is not about repentance. It is white evangelical nostalgia fantasizing about an America where their cultural dominance went unchallenged while injustice flourished unchecked.

You cannot rededicate what was never dedicated and you cannot return to a Jesus you never truly followed.
