Just got a letter today and my plans for our future brick & mortar shop are gone. We have a prime piece of property (half an acre) right along a highway that was to be my future shop. The state is building a 4-lane highway which would greatly impact the shop. The existing highway is being moved from one side of the property to the other.
However, our entire property is now being taken and will be the new highway right-of-way. Our existing shop- demolished. My hopes & dreams- dashed. So we will be having a chat with our lawyer & the appraiser. I don’t know if we’ll be able to find another piece of property that’s affordable in today’s market. We’ve been sitting on this little piece of hope for over a decade just waiting for the day we moved our farm.
