🏃🏻‍♂️ SUMMER CROSS COUNTRY INFO 🏃🏽‍♀️

Now that we’ve wrapped up track season, it’s time to start thinking about cross country!

Summer training on your own will begin on June 8th. Be sure you have joined the Remind to get your summer training packet from Coach Mac. It will have everything you need to know about what to expect this summer and fall. There will be differentiated training plans based on level of experience from seasoned returners to those brand new to running.

Summer flex days will start on July 6th at 6pm. This is an excellent way to get a head start on the season, get to know your teammates and coaches, and get some summer miles in together before the season officially starts! ALL ARE WELCOME!

Make sure you have or bring the following for your first flex day or practice:
☑️ A 2.0 GPA at the end of the semester
☑️ Completed sports physical (dated after May 1st)
☑️ Copy of insurance card
☑️ Running shoes
☑️ Water bottle
☑️ Towel

🏃🏻‍♂️ 2026 STATE MEET RECAP 🏃🏽‍♀️

This past weekend, 24 St. Albans track & field athletes competed at the WV State Track & Field Championships at Laidley Field. We may not have had the biggest team this season, but everyone found their place on the team and helped play a key role in getting us to this point - nearly 70% of our team’s roster this season was competing at the state meet!

Team Scoring
🏃🏽‍♀️ The girls walked away with their highest team finish since 2018, finishing in 8th with 39pts! This nearly doubled their point total from last year and is the most points scored at the state meet in the last 35+ years for a St. Albans girls team.
🏃🏻‍♂️The boys had their highest team finish since 2019, finishing 19th with 12pts! The boys team had scored just 5pts total in the past 5 state meets since then, so this was a HUGE improvement!

🏅 Our squad competed in 20 events total across both genders and walked away with all-state finishes in 12 of those events!
