Gusman Window Restoration

This Jefferson style window walks out onto the balcony in Tower Grove and it was a pleasure to restore. For the exterior I used , which gave a great result. I plan on using linseed paint on more projects.
What a cool part of the home.

This was definitely the most intensive restoration to date.
This past winter, we restored 15 windows on this historic 3 story building in Soulard. Built in 1886!

When I say intensive: There was quite a bit of rebuild. A couple sill replacements, sash rail replacements, new pocket doors, and there were a couple of sashes that were just plain missing.
We were able to custom build them from spare old sash rails, as some of the other windows were replaced with new wood windows.
Heck I even cleaned and used the original screws.

I look forward to saving as many historic windows as possible. They just keep on tickin! 🕰️
