This is the first batch of ceramics I’ve made since becoming a mom in July. 10 mugs took me ten times as long to make as I squeezed in studio time between naps and nursing and playing with our 3-month-old baby boy.

Reimagining the rhythm of working in ceramics has been challenging but not impossible. I’m excited for the days to come when we can play side-by-side in the studio.

I loved the chance to experiment with a few new designs inspired by our garden. The goldfinches and butterflies are some of my favorite visitors and lend themselves to some striking color combinations.

I’ll be teaching three watercolor classes this spring at Ferns and Finds in Town and Country! Join me for a Sunday afternoon of watercolor painting in a beautiful, retreat-like setting. I’ve been looking forward to the Studio Artists’ Shop at Bowood Farms since last year and it’s finally here! Unfortunately, I’m finding myself super under the weather and have made the tough decision to stay home tomorrow. If you were hoping to shop with me at Bowood, I will be so sad to miss you! I hope you’ll go check out the beautiful handmade art, prints, treats, and wares created by the talented group of teaching artists tomorrow, Nov. 23 from 10-3 in the Studio.
