Asthma is a chronic lung condition that causes inflammation in the airways, leading to symptoms like wheezing, chest tightness, shortness of breath, and persistent coughing.

During an asthma attack, the muscles around the airways tighten, the lining swells, and extra mucus is produced, making it even harder to breathe. While symptoms can vary in intensity, untreated flare-ups can be dangerous and may require emergency care.

Asthma affects over 22 million people in the U.S. While thereโ€™s no cure, many people live full, active lives with proper treatment and management.
