The foundation ended its services in 2013 and at that time the Missouri Valley Search and Rescue Team was formed ( https://sarteam.com ). Many of the activities of the foundation were continued under the MOVAL team, including Kidz Kardz Child ID's. NOTICE: Messages left on this page are not typically read/responded to!

Just a reminder...the Hornbeck Search and Rescue Team ended almost a year ago and has been replaced by the Missouri Valley Shawn Hornbeck Search and Rescue Team. We would love to have you come check out our new website sarteam.com and page!

We are very sad to report that due to her medical issues and condition at 9:30am this morning Richard Brooker, Cheney's handler, made the toughest decision he had to make for her and followed the recommendation of the Vet staff to have her euthanized so she would not have to suffer any longer. This is a loss not only to Richard but the entire SAR community. It is always a sad time when we loose a ...valuable resource, and team member, like Cheney who loved to work and loved to 'make the find' at the end of the trail. Our prayers and thougths are with Richard at this time. Thank you to everyone that has been following her story over the past few days. Richard had reported that most of the on duty Vet staff came into the room to witness and pay their respects. She will be cremated in Columbia on Monday.

The Missouri Valley Search and Rescue Team will be offereing our Kidz Kardz Child ID's tomorrow, June 1, at the Grand Re-Opening of the McDonald's in Harvester, MO from 11a - 2p. This will be the first event under the Missouri Valley Search and Rescue Team name. Please come out and find out more about our new team and our services.

Members of the Hornbeck Search and Rescue Team wish everyone a Happy and Safe Halloween! Please remember to use caution this evening when the little ones are out trick or treating. For safety reasons we greatly encourage everyone that will be going out this evening to do so in groups, we do also recommend going with an adult for supervision, and never...and we do mean NEVER by yourself! Think safety!

We will be providing our FREE Kidz Kardz Child ID's at the Spring Into Safety event in Lisle, Il on Tuesday, April 17th. We will be at the Lisle Junior High School at 5207 Center Ave after 6:00pm. We hope to see you there!

As hard as it is to believe, it has now been 5 years since Shawn and Ben were found and returned home to their loving families! We continue to wish both boys and their families all of the success and happiness they deserve. We also wish to take a moment and ask all to continue to think of and support all of those families with still missing loved ones. With your help we can try to help help bring ALL missing loved ones home where they belong!
