Some days, it’s been a struggle to find the energy and focus I need to be creative. With this extra time, I’ve been able to switch gears and focus on upgrading my systems. As an independent business owner, I’m learning the importance of thinking through every step of your client’s journey. I want to make sure that with every interaction, my value is fully communicated & I deliver my clients & audience my best self 😌💜

One thing I’ll always do is keep it real with ya’ll as well as with myself. And today that means coming to terms with one of my current personal obstacles: Imposter Syndrome.

On top of being a perfectionist (as most creatives tend to be), I am my absolute worst critic. Revamping my brand— specifically building my social media presence— has been a healthy challenge in itself because it’s forcing me to be visible, mistakes and all. There are plenty of times when I have an idea in mind or even a plan in motion and I end up convincing myself not to see it through. Even though I have followers that support me and clients that have faith in the work I do, I don’t always have that same faith in myself.

Plenty of us struggle with similar feelings of fear and self-invalidation, AKA the “Imposter Syndrome.” IS can really have you stuck. One minute you’re in the zone, you have a plan, you’re ready to execute. Then the next, you start second-guessing everything you’ve been working toward. You start to wonder: “Who do I think I am?”

This quote from Marianne Williamson is one of my all-time favorites, and I believe it answers this question perfectly. So if you’re like me and you find yourself stuck in a place of self-doubt, remind yourself how POWERFUL you really are and get back to doing you. ✌🏽💕

While there are plenty of factors that can influence your success, I’m personally realizing the importance of self-confidence in the pursuit of success. Progress won’t happen if you don’t believe you can make it happen. In 2019, I hope everyone can take the time for more self-encouragement, more self-appreciation, and more self-confidence.
