May is skin cancer awareness month. So, let’s focus on a reminder for preventative care … one way you can further protect your skin is by using some form of vitamin C. Think about it like this 💭 Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that helps fight the formations of free radicals. Free radicals damage cells, break down out collagen & make us age faster. 💛 Know that there is a difference between the pure form of Vitamin C (L-ascorbic acid) and Vitamin C derivatives(ascorbic acid). For more sensitive skin, start out by using a derivative (look for the ingredients ascorbate or ascorbyl). Derivatives are gentler & more stable. Definitely amazing for beginners/sensitive skin types. 🧡 Concentration is important - choose a vitamin C between 10-20% for an effective range of L-ascorbic acid. 💛 Pair it with an SPF.
