A few weeks back, my son Manley, 3, and I did a last-minute, off-the-couch ascent, 3, and I did a last-minute, off-the-couch ascent of El Capitan. We spent 5 days and 4 nights climbing the ultra-classic Lurking Fear on the southwest face of El Cap.

Huge takeaway from the successful trip. Especially with big objectives in life and business, I realized that the vast majority of our opalnnign and drawn out timelines are self inflicted and usually just add more stress.

I got a call from our our legendary climbing partner Steve Schneider to try and join him on a much harder route, Hole World. 6 days later I was on El Cap wall with him. After realizing the timeline didn't work to have his wife Heather Baer Schneider joiun us for the summit push, I scrambled to save my impromptu trip.

I called in my rope gun and best big wall partner ever, Manley Feinberg III. 6 hours later, he was on a flight to Fresno. And less than 24 hours later, we were on El Cap getting it done.

What big idea, project, initiative, or whatever have you been planning, thinking about, or perhaps procrastinating about? Get on with it before you are ready. Definitely get on with it before you think you are 100% prepared.
