This month’s Trailnet Champion is Hobo Hub Works, and its owner and operator, Matt Steward. 🚲
Through affordable used bikes, welcoming community rides, and a belief that biking should be joyful and accessible to everyone, Matt is helping build a stronger, more connected cycling community here in St. Louis. From rescuing old bikes from landfills to creating a “third space” for people to gather and connect, Hobo Hub Works is a reminder that bikes can be so much more than transportation; they can create friendship, freedom, and belonging.
We’re grateful for Matt’s partnership, his support of Trailnet’s work, and his commitment to making biking more welcoming for riders of all backgrounds. Head to the comments to read more!

It’s nearly here — Bike to Work (or Wherever) Day is this Friday, and we can’t wait to welcome cyclists to stations across the area for refreshments, encouragement, and camaraderie!
Not sure which station is on your way to work/the park/errands/wherever? Head to the link in the comments to check out the map, and see who’s hosting each station (most of which are open from 7–9 a.m.)
In addition to refreshments, each station will have a limited number of Bike Month spoke cards, fun stickers, handy wallet-sized bike safety cards, and Metro Adventure Passes!
To friends traveling by car that morning: Friday may bring a few more people on bikes to the streets than usual! Thanks for helping make Bike to Work (Or Wherever) Day safe and welcoming by sharing the road, checking twice before turning or opening doors, and giving at least three feet when passing people on bikes.
Many thanks to all our stations partners for joining us: A&M Cyclery, Carondelet Neighborhood Association, City of Brentwood Parks and Recreation, Citizens for Modern Transit, Cortex, East-West Gateway, Fairground Park for All, Great Rivers Greenway, Greater St. Louis Inc., International Institute of St. Louis, Lochmueller Group, McCarthy Building Companies, Metro, Missouri Botanical Gardens, Perennial, Ride Finders, Seafoam Marketing, St. Clair County Transit District, Terrain Magazine, and The Last Stop Bike Shop.
