📣 Empowered Pets and People Project family 📣

We need your help!

A family has reached out and needs assistance for their pup, Phoenix. Like so many others right now, the financial strain of our current economy has made it difficult for them to keep up with sweet Phoenix’s medical needs.

Phoenix’s mom is currently working to shift her financial position, but needs help to bridge the gap right now. Phoenix’s mom is the best fur momma an animal could hope for. She has a long history of donating and helping to support others in their time of need and now she needs a little help!

An anonymous donor has offered to pay the first $225 of the $450 needed to pay off Phoenix’s vet bill balance and medication costs this week!

If you can spare even a dollar, it would greatly help this family. Every dollar donated will go directly towards Phoenix’s medical expenses.

This Thursday we are spaying three cats and neutering one for a local family! This is how we can ensure that they all get to live happy, healthy lives in their home without turning into an overwhelming number of kittens.

🚨 Thinking about getting your cat spayed or neutered? Here’s why it’s one of the best things you can do—for them and the community! 🐾

✨ Healthier Cats
Spayed and neutered cats live longer, healthier lives. No risk of certain cancers or infections, and no stressful heat cycles!

😌 Better Behavior
Less yowling, roaming, spraying, or fighting. Fixed cats tend to be calmer and more affectionate.

🏡 Fewer Homeless Kittens
Millions of unwanted kittens end up in shelters every year. Spaying/neutering helps reduce overpopulation and gives more cats a chance at a loving home.

💸 Saves Money
Preventing health issues and surprise litters means fewer vet bills—and less strain on local shelters.

🐱💕 It’s a simple step that makes a BIG difference. If you haven’t already, talk to your vet, local rescue, or us about low-cost options. Your kitty (and your community) will thank you!

If you would like to help us offset the cost of their surgeries so we can continue helping more pets in our community, donations can be sent to-

Please, please do not leave fur babies outside when there are heat advisory’s. If it is too hot for us, it is definitely too hot for them!

Cape Girardeau summers are no joke — and neither is the risk of heat stroke in pets.

🐶 Keep your dog cool and safe:
☀️ Dogs can start overheating at just 104°F — and after 15 minutes, heat stroke can turn deadly.

🚨 Signs include:
• Heavy panting, trouble breathing
• Bright red or grey gums/tongue
• Drooling, vomiting, or diarrhea
• Staggering or collapse
• Lethargy

🐾 Dogs at higher risk:
🐾 Short-nosed breeds (like pugs, bulldogs)
🐾 Long-haired breeds (like border collies)
🐾 Puppies & seniors (7+ years)

💧 Always provide shade, fresh water, and NEVER leave pets in hot vehicles — even for a minute.

Let’s keep our furry friends safe this summer! 💙

Today we are thankful that we were able to say YES!

A family that we have previously assisted with spay and neuter services needed us to show up in a way that was a little “outside the box.” Yesterday, their AC unit went out. Today, their home reached 102°. They have multiple doggos and kitties living in their home. 102° is way too hot for humans, but even more so for the fur babies. With the temperatures being in the 90’s later this week, we knew we needed to act fast.

As of 10mins ago, we were able to have a window ac unit that we purchased for them delivered to their door! This will at least allow them to cool off their main living area, so there is a room for reprieve.

There are still three bedrooms with kiddos that could use small window units. If you would like to help contribute to ac units for this family, we would be happy to order more!

🐾 Because They’re Family—Help Us Care for Pets in Need 🐾

Have you ever looked into the eyes of a pet and seen pure love?

At Empowered Pets and People Project, we meet people every day who would do anything for their furry companions—but sometimes, love alone isn’t enough. When a beloved pet needs emergency vet care, or when the cost of spay/neuter is out of reach, families are left heartbroken.

We’re here to change that. And we need your help.

✨ Your donation will go directly toward:
•Emergency veterinary care for pets in crisis
•Spay and neuter services to prevent suffering before it starts

We’ve seen scared families, praying for help. Because of donors like you, we’ve been able to say: “We’ve got you.”

But the need is growing—and we can’t do it alone. Tomorrow we are spaying two cats for a family to end the cycle of kittens.

💛 $25 helps with basic medication
💛 $75 helps spay/neuter a cat or dog
💛 $150+ can help save a life in an emergency

Please give what you can. You’re not just helping an animal—you’re keeping families together, and giving hope where it’s needed most.
