Veterans For Peace

On July 4, 2026, the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States, veterans, active-duty military members, and military families from different eras, services, backgrounds, and different political points of view will march together to oppose the Trump administration's authoritarian and unconstitutional actions against their communities and fundamental freedoms. They march in the birthplace of the nation because they want a country that takes care of all of its people, not just the billionaire class.

WHO: Veterans Against Fascism, a coalitional effort of veteran and military family organizations including About Face, 50501 Vets, Veterans For Peace, Common Defense, Military Families Speak Out, Fayetteville Resistance Coalition, and Center on Conscience and War, with the support of Women's March, joined by veterans, active-duty service members, and military families.

WHAT: Veterans, military members, and military families marking the 250th anniversary by calling for an end to constitutional violations at home and endless wars abroad.

WHY:
Participants say they are honoring the oath they took to the Constitution by marching against the violations they see daily in the US and abroad, from the denial of due process to the targeting of people for exercising their rights to free speech and assembly.
They oppose the militarization of law enforcement and of ICE, violent tactics they say they have witnessed firsthand overseas and are alarmed to see turned on US citizens, their neighbors, and their families.
They are calling on the administration to end the wars it has started, arguing that continued conflict waged under the banner of “peace through strength” serves profit, not the public.
They are demanding a government that works for people rather than the billionaire class, as social services including Medicaid, SNAP, and the VA face cuts, while the ultra-wealthy pay minimal taxes and billions are poured into the Pentagon budget.
