Our Story

Collegiate Pride was originally started as a hobby by Judy and Gary Moyer in their garage in State College, PA. Judy was involved with Girl Scouts and Gary with Little League baseball.

Thinking it would be fun for the children to print their own t-shirts for activities and games, the Moyers contacted Gary’s brother Don (a graphic designer) to find out how to screen print clothing. Don sent a “how to” book and the printing began in the Moyer’s garage as a fun activity for their children and their friends.

Screen printing for kids led to screen printing for Lions Pride, a store that was opened in 1976 to sell high-quality Penn State clothing. Soon Collegiate Pride needed a larger space for offices, storage, and for the growing screen printing business. In 1984 Collegiate Pride opened its own manufacturing facility in the Cato Industrial Park.

Since 1984 the company has remodeled and added to its facility in order to keep it state of the art. Its 13,500 square foot manufacturing facility houses a showroom, sales offices, a full-service graphics department, production area, and warehouse space for thousands of pieces of customizable apparel. The hand-operated printing has been supplemented by an automatic printer, which can print 700 shirts in one hour. Not only can the company do small jobs, but large jobs can be finished in a timely manner.
